Apply for Services
Apply for Caring Hands Baltimore’s Services
I. First, before an individual can begin the Caring Hands’ application process to receive ongoing services, an individual needs to have applied for and been approved for funding through the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). Information and DDA applications can be obtained at DDA’s website:
II. If you are eligible for funding from the DDA, you should be assigned a coordinator of community services (CCS) who will assist you in accessing services. The CCS, applicant, or applicant’s family member can contact Caring Hands to learn about Caring Hands’ services or how to apply. Caring Hands outreach staff can assist you with information about DDA and services available through Caring Hands.
III. Email the completed application for Caring Hands’ services to Caring Hands.

DDA FUNDED RESPITE CARE
For those individuals that are receiving DDA (Developmental Disabilities Administration) funding through a Service Funding Plan, respite supports can be part of the plan. If it’s not in the current plan, your service coordinator can submit a “Request for Service Change” to DDA to request that respite be added. The specific number of hours and types of respite support is driven by an individual’s and family’s needs. Because DDA funds are subject to federal waiver regulations, there may be limitations on who can be paid to provide the service. Ask your Coordinator of Community Services for more information about DDA-funded respite supports.
